Two kinds of business, two kinds of phone system
Winter Garden’s commercial life runs in two directions at once. Downtown is retail, restaurants, cafes and small offices in older buildings close together. Out along SR-429 and SR-50 it is distribution, warehousing and light industrial space in buildings that are large, loud and spread out. A phone system that suits one is usually wrong for the other, which is why we start with the building and the headcount rather than with a product.
Downtown retail and restaurants
A shop or restaurant needs a system that answers the way the business runs. That usually means a hosted cloud system: no equipment closet to find room for, a small number of handsets, and the features that matter for a storefront. An auto-attendant that reads hours and directions to callers. A ring group so a call rings the counter and the office at the same time. Voicemail that arrives as email. A cordless handset for whoever is on the floor.
Restaurants add a takeout line that should not ring busy at seven on a Friday and a number that can be answered from a manager’s cell phone after close. Hosted systems handle both, and they move with the business if it takes the space next door or opens a second location in Windermere or Ocoee.
Warehouse and distribution space along SR-429 and SR-50
A distribution building has a different problem: a small office with a handful of desks attached to a very large floor where nobody sits at one. The system has to reach the dock, the aisles and the yard. That means overhead paging integrated with the phones so a call can be announced across the floor, cordless handsets with enough range to cover the building, and a ring group that includes the shipping office.
Operations at that scale, or with more than about ten users per site, often make more sense on an on-premise PBX: one system for the office and the floor, extensions across more than one site, and room to add a call center or a second building later without starting over. SIP trunks carry the outside lines in place of traditional phone lines.
Hosted cloud or on-premise PBX
Hosted cloud fits businesses with roughly one to ten users per site, sites that scale up and down with the season, remote or home-based staff, and owners who would rather pay a predictable monthly fee than buy hardware up front. An on-premise PBX fits ten or more users per location, paging and call-center needs, and multiple offices that should behave as one system. Both need a stable internet connection, and both work better on a network that was built with voice in mind.

Handsets, cabling and the network underneath
We install Polycom, Cisco, Yealink and Grandstream handsets, and we run the structured cabling those handsets plug into. In an older downtown building that often means new Cat 6 drops to the counter and the back office. In a warehouse it means long runs to the dock office and the paging amplifier, and a rack in a room that stays clean and cool. The switches and router that carry the voice traffic are configured for it, so a busy afternoon of orders does not turn into choppy calls.
What to have ready when you call
- How many people need a phone at each site, and how many of them share one
- Whether anyone works from home or from the road
- Your current phone and internet bills
- Whether the building has paging, or needs it
- What your current system does that you cannot do without, and what it does badly
Winter Garden, Ocoee, Windermere and west Orange County
Winter Garden sits on the western side of the metro, and the same team covers Ocoee and Windermere next door, Orlando to the east, and Clermont to the west along SR-50. A business with a storefront downtown and a warehouse in Ocoee, or a second office in Windermere, can run as one phone system with extensions at each. SPCom Solutions is a service-area business, so we come to you; there is no showroom to visit. Orlando and Clermont have pages of their own: structured cabling in Orlando, security cameras in Orlando, IT support in Orlando and security cameras in Clermont. See the full service area
